One of the issues I’ve always had with online learning is programming a question to have some type of interaction when the student does not initially answer the question correctly the first time. Most tools provide multiple ways to provide feedback. This feedback comes either per answer or per question or at the end of a series of questions. This methodology is fine, however, adaptive follow-on questions to the student’s response is a much better way to interact with the student.
